Dr. Kevin Marsh is a pediatric hospitalist at Samaritan, working exclusively inside the hospital to care for admitted infants, children, and teenagers. Pediatric hospitalists manage inpatient care, coordinate subspecialist teams, and bridge communication between providers, parents, and others caregivers.

Dr. Marsh enjoys the puzzle-solving nature of his work, working with sick kids and their parents to put the pieces together in their care plan. His approach to patient care closely involves the parents as members of the care team, as they know the child best. This is especially true for young children who cannot easily voice their symptoms. He has learned to pick up on non-verbal cues from young patients, ensuring their needs come first.

After earning his undergraduate degree at UC San Diego, Dr. Marsh completed medical school at New York Medical College. He spent 12 years in the U.S. Army, completing his residency at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii. He also served a one-year combat tour in Iraq.

In his free time, Dr. Marsh coaches high school track and field and enjoys helping kids reach their full potential. He and his wife — who also was his high school sweetheart — have four kids.
