Kati Hughes is an advanced registered nurse practitioner (ARNP) who is dual certified in family practice and psychiatry. With nearly 30 years of healthcare experience, she is focused on pernatal addiction medicine, which involves caring for women with substance use disorders who are pregnant or have children under a year old. She also specializes in medication management.

Kati is an advocate for reducing the stigma of mental illness and substance use disorders. Offering inclusive and holistic care to all patients, she views her services and any necessary medications as tools to build a ladder. She’ll assist and encourage patients in building the rungs but maintains that patients must do the work to climb the ladder themselves.

Hughes meets each individual where they’re at, defining goals as a team. She wants each patient to feel heard, understood, and never judged, leaving her office empowered.

Kati earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Spring Arbor University in Michigan and her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) and family practice certification from the University of Toledo, where she also held a faculty position. When she isn’t helping patients, Kati enjoys spending time with her husband, children, and grandchildren.
