Dr. Saad Alvi is an addiction medicine provider with nearly two decades of experience combining deep clinical expertise with operational know-how to deliver outstanding patient results.
Education is a major component of Dr. Alvi’s work at Samaritan. He creates protocols and systems to best track opioid prescriptions and provide medication-assisted treatment. These systems impact not only the individual patient, but also the entire healthcare system.
As there is a deep history of stigma with substance use disorder, Dr. Alvi prioritizes acceptance of patients from all walks of life with a variety of substance issues. He creates a sense of dignity and self-esteem in patients, finding great satisfaction in helping individuals reshape their lives.
Dr. Alvi earned his medical degree from Dow Medical College in the Dow University of Health Sciences in his home country of Pakistan. He completed an internal medicine residency at Weiss Memorial Hospital in Chicago and served as chief resident at Saint Joseph Hospital. He held faculty appointments at the University of Illinois, Rush Medical School, and Chicago Medical School.
Alvi is a fellow of the American College of Physicians (ACP) and of the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM).
A fan of Indian classical music, called Qavvali, Dr. Alvi enjoys his return trips to Pakistan to discover new musicians. He lives in Moses Lake with his wife and young son.
