Nursing Residency Program

Samaritan’s Nurse Residency Program is a structured orientation and professional development program designed to promote safe practice, knowledge development, and self-confidence by bridging the gap from novice nurse to competent team member. Our comprehensive curriculum incorporates adult learning, reflective practice, experiential and blended learning opportunities throughout an RN’s first year of practice.

New graduates that are hired as RNs also receive the support of other new nurses in their residency cohorts, which begin throughout the year.

The Nursing Residency Program includes:

  • Intensive, blended learning during the first 12 weeks of orientation, followed by monthly seminars throughout the first year of practice
  • Preceptor-led clinical time in patient care areas
  • Ongoing support from the Nurse Residency educator and facilitators
  • Participation in an evidence-based project
  • Exclusive online community for Nurse Residents
